BBQ-Style Pork Tenderloin

A yummy comfort food with Chinese flavours to warm you up in the winter.  You can watch Carol make this easy-to-cook dish here

Ingredients:

2 Pork tenderloins (whole)
Salt and Pepper
1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon Dark Soy Sauce (here’s a description of the difference between “dark soy sauce” and “soy sauce”)
½ tablespoon Chinese cooking rice wine (“liao jiu” or 料酒 in Chinese)
2-3 chunks (approx. 1 tablespoon) of fermented tofu (also called fermented bean curd, or “doufu ru” or 豆腐乳 in Chinese)
2 tablespoons Raw Honey

Note: Chinese ingredients like dark soy sauce and cooking rice wine can usually be found at an Asian Supermarket

Preparation:

Using a fork, stab the tenderloins over the entire surface to tenderize the meat
Add salt and pepper to the meat (to taste)

Make the marinade:

Add the soy sauce, cooking wine, dark soy sauce and fermented tofu to a small bowl and mix
Pour over the meat and marinade for an hour

Cook in the oven at 175°C (350°F) for about half an hour (depending on the size of the tenderloins) until the internal temperature of the meat is 63°C (145°F)
Take the meat out of the oven and pour the raw honey over it (if using WEH soft set honey you may want to soften the honey first)

Slice the pork and serve!
